The Name...
The name Volland was chosen after the Volland Family which the business revolves round. Previously the business was called RTIC, but as part of an image update, the name was changed to reflect its ambitions. The first Volland was Terry Volland, an engineer who was taught by the American Air Force in the early 60s. After his time in the American Air Force he moved to Saudi Arabia where he maintained & repaired large Refrigerated & Air Conditioned systems at major hospitals. In 1997 he setup a small business in lincolnshire repairing & maintaining refrigerated equipment.
Volland Today...
Today Terry is chief engineer, letting his son take the helm as MD. The company has been expanded & our activities now include Air Conditioning, Beer Cellar & Cold Room installations. With the new image came new contracts, including major breweries; installing, maintaining & repairing Beer Cellar systems.

Our Services
Installation
Volland can install a variety of Air Conditioning for your business. We only install quality Air Conditioning systems such as Mitsubishi, LG & Vaillant. We can work with all sorts of budgets, and will get a system suited for your business. We never install DIY systems (beware of those who do), only professional installations with professional systems. All internal pipe work will be hidden, either via cleaver routing or discreet trunking. For examples of our air conditioning installations are found under the case study section.
Beers Cellars are vital to keep customer's beer cool. In some cases a brewery will insist on a beer cellar so that their beer is stored at a suitable temperature. Volland can install the perfect beer cellar for your business. We only install Marstair Systems, because they are tried & tested & come with a 36 month Guarantee (Subject to Maintenance terms). We are extremely tidy in our installations & make sure all pipe work is discreet.
A cold or freezer room is great for larger businesses that require refrigerared storage. If you find your self with endless amounts of Gastaorm Refrigerators, it might be time to get a Cold/ Freezer room; it'll save you space, and save money with one refrigerated system instead of many.
Design
Volland has a dedicated Design department. Not only do we design Air Conditioning systems for your Home, Office or Restaurant, but also design a wide variety of other products including Cold Rooms, Evaporative Cooling and Dehumidifiers.
Using our in-house computerised design facilities, we can design Air Conditioning to provide the most comftable enviroment possible.

Repair
We are available 18 hours a day, 365 days a year and will respond rapidly via our on line Service Request booking system, and resolve any problem you might have.
All our qualified service technicians are well trained and very competent. All repairs are carried out fast and done right the first time, with the refrigeration system back up and running as soon as possible, we strive to deliver Service without Compromise
We understand that it can be frustrating when equipment breaks down, but you can count on our service technicians to act professionally and with courtesy at all times. Following your call, our technician will arrive on site promptly, introduce himself and listen to your concerns. They will then attend to the problem without delay, and carry out any necessary repairs, of course subject to your approval. Our service technician’s vehicles are well equipped with spare parts for most urgent repairs.

Air Conditioning - Large Project
This Masonic hall required a large area, used to entertain up to 300 people, to be cooled, hiding all pipe work, without harming the beautiful interior. We fitted 3 10kw Mitsubishi slim Air Conditioning systems, which was able to cool the area perfectly.
Air Conditioning - Medium Project
At Sergi's Deli & Restaurant the manager wanted Air Conditioning that couldn't only cool but also sufficiently heat. We choose 3 LG Air Conditioning systems, two 3.5kw systems for the shop & One 5kw system for the restaurant. Not only was it able to cool, but it was also able to heat the entire shop & restaurant.
Air Conditioning - Small Project
The following customer wanted to concentrate on heating for their back room. They were surprised to hear that air conditioning is one of the cheapest & most efficient heating available. Furthermore the government is implementing reduced VAT (at 5%) making it even more affordable. VOLLAND installed a 4.5kw (heating) Vaillant A/C system. The installation was completed in less than 4 hours, and heated the room to perfection
This customer required an affordable, but efficient Air Conditioning system to cool his front living room. Volland recommended the new Vaillant system, which he was surprised to hear does the cool & heating, and that he was able to reclaim 10% of the VAT from the government!
Cold Room - Medium Project
Sunday’s, a roast lunch restaurant being developed in Northampton required a cold room, but had little room to work with. The solution from VOLLAND was to use the available height in the area, installing a 2.4 meter high cold room. Furthermore to increase the efficiency we installed an external condenser, which meant incredibly fast cooling.
Cold Room - Small Project
China/ India 88, Spalding, found it required room to store its fresh & frozen food. Volland recommended 2 small cold rooms to eliminate all their current refrigerated storage, lowing power consumption; saving space & money!
This wonderful large farm shop in Dunstable required two refrigerated rooms to be built, both with speciality sliding doors, with the freezer room being particularly tall. Our engineers fitted an external unit for the freezer and a large integral unit on the chiller. Needless to say, both units worked a dream!
Air Conditioning Maintainance - Medium Project
When China 88, Grantham, moved in to their very large premises, they found their Air Conditioning lacking slightly. After an inspection, Volland found it needed a completed over haul, including new filters, new insulation around the ducting, new belts & a evaporator deep clean. The result ; unbelievable cooling!

Can you fix my refrigerated equipment?
Of course we can! Any problem you have with any refrigerated equipment, then we can solve it. We will however give advice as regards to the age and/or state of the equipment. A 40 year old Refrigerator with a fault might be repairable, but we'll inform you first if we believe it'll cost more than the equipment is worth.
I have found with previous companies that thier parts are exspensive, are yours?
The first time you use Volland, and we require to replace a part, you'll notice that it's far cheaper than you would exspect. That's because we buy in bulk from our suppliers, so we slash our prices & pass the savings onto our customers.
Do you supply & fit recinditioned compressors!
We do*! We understand that in the credit crunch some businesses require to cut costs & a Compressor Failure of a vital refrigerated appliance can cost. A Recon Compressor can drsticly cut that cost. However, we highly recommend, that a new compressor be used, as of course a new compressor will have a longer life span & gurentee.
*Please note that although we try our upmost to stock as many recon compressors as possible, we might not have the right compressor for yourself
What sort of gurentee does your repairs/ equipment come with?
All repairs come with Volland 1 year gurentee (6 months when using second hand parts). The equipment we supply comes with a standard 1 year gurentee , with a further 2 year gurentee (subject to maintainance).
My cold room has broken down with all it's stock still in it - HELP!
Volland are avalible on emergancy call out 18 hours a day (6am - 12pm) via the emergancy engineer number on the left (only accepting landline numbers to reduce prank calls).
I've recieved a qoute from another refrigeration firm, can you beat it?
We'll match any like for like qoute that you recieve from a reconisble refrigeration firm.
To keep your equipment running as smoothly as possible, we recommend that you have regular maintenance on all your equipment. You can arrange a one off maintenance contract from Volland at any time, however for peace of mind we also provide a maintenance contract.

Please note that if equipment has HFC refrigerants (such as r12 or r22) we can't provide a refrigerant test due to the new F-gas rules (see r22 & your business).
What if your equipment is on r22/ r12 refrigent
To make sure your equipment runs the best it can, we check the equipments refrigerant level to make sure it isn't low, & will also add our fluorescent dye to detect any leaks. However, due to new F-gas regulations refrigerants such as r22 have been phased out. This means that although we can still carry out maintenance not related to the refrigerant, we cant carry out a refrigerant level check.

A new and existing feature on our website is that with just a couple of questions you can get a free quote for air conditioning, a beer cellar system or a refrigerated room within 24hrs (usually far quicker). This is totally free and comes with several benefits (read on below to see what these benefits are).
What infomation you will need at hand
Not all the questions that are ask on the forms require an answer but please answer as many of the questions as you can. However there is some information you will need at hand, which are as follows:
How long will it take for us to respond
If you supply your information on a working day, we will reply within a couple of hours. On non working days your quote will be handled within 24hrs.
What will you receive once we process your quote
When we complete your quote we will send you a report, stating the KW that is required to cool the area, heat loads, performance charts & more. This is yours to keep & use as you wish. With that report you will have a quote, however wont just provide one quote, we will instead provide 3 different quotes, expressing the pros & cons for each one and which system we recommend for your business.
Is the quote that you recive 100% certain
If the information you provide is correct & honest then the quote you receive should be final, however if you like the quote from us & wish us to carry out the project we will perform a site inspection. This is 100% free & we will inform you if there are any issues.
r22 & Your Business
From the 1st of January 2010 r22 will become unobtainable, as new laws have deemed it unsafe to the environment. This may affect you business
What does this mean for your business?
It depends on what refrigerant your equipment uses. Allot of equipment throughout the 90s used r22 including Air Conditioning, Beer Cellars & Cold Rooms. This can easily be identified via a quick look on the label on the condenser, where it should state the refrigerant. If there is no sign of a label, VOLLAND can use our refrigerant ID kit to quickly identify which refrigerant is in the system.
What if your system does contain r22
It means if there is a break down after 01/01/2010, it will be hard to repair the equipment. Electrical components such as fan motors can still be replaced, but a fault with the actual refrigeration system could be a problem. There are solutions in place though, all of which can be discussed with VOLLAND one to one. These solutions are as follows:
This unfortunately requires replacing the condensing unit & evaporator. In most cases though we can reuse the pipe work. This is the only option for Air Conditioning on r22
Some systems can be converted to newer refrigerant, by changing just the condenser & some other minor parts, but keeping the evaporator. This can be done with some beer cellar systems & refrigerated rooms.
In some case, we can change the gas, oil & expansion valve so that the system can run on newer refrigerant.
Is it illegal to have equipment with this refrigerant?
NO! You can continue using equipment with r22 refrigerant & won't be breaking the law. However, youll find it difficult to get it repaired when a breakdown occurs.
